About QuickWordSolver

A fast, readable set of word tools that respect your attention.

Why this site exists

Most word tools online are fifteen years old. They are buried in adverts, they need a page reload to give you an answer, the text is small and grey, and they are painful on a phone. The tools themselves are simple — the experience around them is not.

QuickWordSolver is an attempt to do the same job properly: instant answers, generous text, large buttons, and nothing between you and the result.

How it is built

Every tool runs entirely inside your browser. When you type letters, the matching happens on your own device — the letters are never transmitted to us, which is why results appear as fast as you can type.

The pages are plain, pre-rendered HTML with no framework. That is a deliberate choice: it keeps them fast on older phones and slow connections.

Accessibility

Word games are enjoyed by a lot of people who find small text difficult. Accessibility here is a core feature, not an afterthought:

  • Large text mode, remembered on your device
  • Every button at least 48 pixels, with a written label — never an icon alone
  • High contrast text and a dark mode
  • Full keyboard navigation and screen reader announcements
  • Voice input for your letters, where the browser supports it

If something here is hard to use, that is a fault worth fixing. Please tell us.

Our word list

Results come from ENABLE, a public domain English word list of more than 170,000 words, with offensive terms filtered out. It is not an official tournament dictionary and we do not claim otherwise — words accepted here may be challenged in competitive play, and some tournament words are absent.

The Classroom edition — and what it does not do

There are two versions of these tools. The standard edition uses the full filtered word list. The Classroom edition uses a more heavily filtered one, and carries no advertising.

Why two. One word list cannot serve both audiences honestly. A crossword solver needs spade, tart and rectum; a Year 2 spelling worksheet must not show them. Rather than pick a compromise that fails both, there are two editions. Both exclude slurs and explicit terms; the classroom list additionally removes about eighty everyday words that are innocent in one reading and awkward in a classroom.

⚠️ What it is not. The Classroom edition is a safer default for a link you hand out — it is not parental control and it does not restrict anything. Anyone can type the address of the standard edition, and nothing here prevents that. If you need enforced filtering, that belongs at the network or device level, not in a word tool.

The filter is public. Both word lists live in the site's source repository rather than hidden in a database, because a filter nobody can inspect is not one you should trust. If you find something that should be filtered and is not, or something filtered that should not be, please say so — teachers' reports are acted on first.

Independence

QuickWordSolver is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the makers of Wordle, Scrabble, Boggle, Words With Friends, or any other word game. Those names are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to describe what these tools help with.
