Privacy Policy
Short version: your letters never leave your device.
The words you type
Every tool on this site runs inside your browser. The letters, patterns and words you enter are processed on your own device and are never transmitted to us or stored anywhere. We could not see them if we wanted to.
What is stored on your device
Two preferences are saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers them next time:
- Whether large text mode is on
- Whether dark mode is on
These never leave your device and are not tracking identifiers. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Voice input
The optional Speak letters button uses your browser's own speech recognition. Depending on your browser, that audio may be processed by your browser vendor's servers rather than on your device. We never receive it. If you would rather not use it, simply type instead — the button is entirely optional.
Server logs
Our web host records standard access logs — IP address, browser type, page requested and time — as almost every web server does. These are used for security and to keep the site running.
Advertising
This site does not currently display advertising. If advertising is added later, this section will be rewritten first — naming the provider, what it collects, and how to opt out — so that it is accurate before the first advert ever appears, not after.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to count visits and see which tools people find useful. It records the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device and browser you use.
It also sets two cookies in your browser — named _ga and
_ga_9GRN48FNF9, expiring after two years — so that a second
visit is recognised as a return rather than counted as a new person. They hold a
randomly generated number. They do not contain your name, your email address, or
anything you have typed.
The letters you type into any solver are never part of this. Solving happens entirely inside your browser, and what you type never appears in a web address, so there is nothing about it for analytics to collect. That is a consequence of how the tools are built, not a promise we have to keep by hand.
We do not use this data to identify individual visitors or to build advertising audiences, and Google's cross-device tracking features are switched off for this site. Google describes what it collects for sites like this one at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can opt out on every site at once using Google's opt-out browser add-on, or the tracking protection built into most browsers.
The Classroom edition carries no analytics at all. No Google tag is loaded on those pages.
Children and schools
The main solvers are general-audience tools. The Classroom edition is provided as an advertising-free utility for teachers, families, and students, using a more heavily filtered word list.
The Classroom edition carries no advertising and no analytics. No Google tag is loaded on those pages, and nothing about a visit there is sent to Google. That stays true permanently, including if advertising is added elsewhere on this site.
Neither edition requires an account or asks anyone for personal information, at any age. On the main solvers, the analytics described above count visits to the site; they are not used to identify individual visitors.

Changes
Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the date below. Analytics were introduced in August 2026, and this page was updated before the first measurement tag went live rather than afterwards. The same applies to advertising if it is ever introduced.
